Hello everyone, this is HANBS, I'm Sonya and it's time to share with you again.
In the last issue, I shared the different cutting oils for different machines and occasions. (If you don't know about it, you can read the previous post.) I noticed that most of the cutting oils can be used in swiss type cnc lathe, today we will talk about why swiss lathe can be used in so many cutting oils.
Cutting oils are primarily used to cool down and lubricate machines in production. We mentioned water-soluble coolant, synthetic coolant, semi-synthetic coolant, pure oil (straight oil), non-chlorinated oil, etc. So many cutting oils can be used for swiss type cnc lathe, why? The reasons are as follows:
1. High precision and diversified machining needs
Strong adaptability: swiss type CNC lathe is specialized in high-precision, small parts processing, and can handle a variety of complex shapes and materials. Different machining tasks may have different requirements for cooling, lubrication and cleaning, so Swiss-type lathes are able to select the most appropriate cutting oil for specific needs.
Wide range of material adaptability: Swiss-type CNC lathes can process a variety of materials, such as stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, brass and so on. Different materials have different requirements for coolant, for example, aluminum may require good cooling performance, while stainless steel may require more lubricating performance. Therefore, different types of cutting oils can be selected according to the material characteristics.
Many people know swiss lathe is used for machining high precision, small parts, it can also handle a variety of materials. But it is because the different materials have different levels of damage to the tool, so there is a need to have cutting oil to reduce friction and extend the life of the tool.
2. Complex and diverse machining processes
Multi-functional processing: Swiss-type CNC lathe can carry out a variety of process operations, such as turning, drilling, milling, threading and so on. Each operation may require different cutting oils to optimize machining results. For example, deep hole drilling may require pure oil for better lubrication, while high-speed turning may require synthetic coolant for better heat dissipation.
The deep drilling function also means that there is a lot of debris that will fall out with the drilling, so cutting oils also have the function of cleaning up the main and secondary spindles.
3. Flexible needs for cooling and lubrication
Balance of cooling and lubrication: Swiss-type CNC lathes may operate in an environment that requires both good cooling and adequate lubrication. Depending on the machining requirements of the specific workpiece, emulsions, synthetic coolants or semi-synthetic coolants can be used to find the optimum balance between cooling and lubrication.
Adaptability to a wide range of cutting fluids: Because Swiss-type CNC lathes are well-designed to handle light to heavy-duty cutting operations, they are guaranteed to be compatible with a wide range of cutting fluids to meet the needs of different machining scenarios.
4. Environmental and Health Considerations
Environmental requirements: In medical, aerospace and other industries with high environmental and health requirements, Swiss-type CNC lathes require the use of chlorine-free oils or other environmentally friendly cutting fluids. Chlorine-free oils ensure that no harmful chlorinated by-products are produced during the machining process, while ensuring a clean and safe operating environment.
Operator safety: Swiss-type CNC lathes are often used in highly sophisticated environments, so cutting fluids that are safe for both the operator and the end product need to be selected to meet stringent health and safety standards.
5. Optimizing machining performance
Extended tool life (mentioned above): Using the right cutting oil can significantly extend tool life, reduce the frequency of tool changes and improve machining efficiency. Swiss-type CNC lathes offer a high degree of flexibility in tool selection and cutting oil choice, allowing the most appropriate type of cutting oil to be selected according to specific conditions.
Improve workpiece quality: Swiss-type CNC lathes are often used to manufacture parts that require high precision and high surface finish. Different cutting oils can optimize surface quality, reduce burrs, burns and other defects, and ensure that the workpiece meets the desired quality standards.
The high precision, versatility and adaptability to different materials of Swiss-type CNC lathes give them the flexibility to use a wide range of cutting oils to meet different machining operations and industry requirements. This versatility makes it ideal for many precision machining applications.
This is today's sharing, I hope it can help people in need, we will see you in the next issue. Bye~
