From Tool Arrangement Strategy to Tool Feed Path, Unleash the Potential of Centerfeeder
In the high-speed and high-precision machining system of Swiss CNC Lathe, the reasonableness of tool configurations plays a decisive role in the machining tempo, stability and yield rate. Especially in multi-process, small parts processing, optimize the tool arrangement and feed path can not only shorten the processing time, but also enhance the efficiency of the machine and the level of automation.
Tool configuration: not only “fit”
Swiss machine tools have a unique tool arrangement structure, tool assembly is usually arranged along the Z-axis, some models are also equipped with back machining tool holder and rotary power tool. Therefore, the number of tools and the arrangement of the order is not the more the better, but should take into account the logic of the process, cutting order, tool change interference and space utilization.
Reasonable configuration ideas include:
Main process priority in front: the longest machining cycle or the greatest impact on the accuracy of the tool is placed close to the main guide position, reducing the path of the tool change;
Roughing and finishing partition layout:
roughing and finishing tools are arranged separately to reduce the interference and the impact of heat conduction;
Machining process into a group layout:
such as drilling and then tapping, tool spacing is compact, the path of convergence is smooth;
Before and after the spindle linkage considerations:
the back spindle process and the front spindle tool misalignment. Process and front spindle tool staggered arrangement, to avoid back machining interference conflict.
Through the above strategy, the “non-cutting time” caused by waiting for tool change or interference check can be effectively avoided.
The feed path optimization: the beat compression tool
In addition to the reasonable tool position, the optimization of the feed path is another key factor in determining the machining beat. Traditional centering machine each step of the movement must be accurate, but the design of the movement path can be more “smart”.
Optimization methods include:
Reducing empty travel and repetitive positioning: the tool tries to approach the machining area with the shortest path possible, avoiding back-and-forth movement;
Simultaneous cutting with a combination of tools:
where possible, one tool is used to complete multiple actions, such as drilling + chamfering;
Simultaneous machining strategy: front and rear spindles are machined at the same time for different processes, making full use of the dual-channel capability;
Early retraction and parallel action:
the previous tool retracts and the next tool feeds the action. Overlapping arrangement to reduce ineffective waiting time.
For example, when machining a Φ4mm precision pin, the original total beat is 32 seconds, which is shortened to 24 seconds after optimizing the linkage between tool and path, and the efficiency is improved up to 25%.
With automation system: amplify the optimization effect
As Swiss machine tools are increasingly used in conjunction with automatic feeders, splicing devices, and in-line testers, the optimization of tool configurations is no longer one-dimensional, but rather synergistic with the entire line beat.
Optimization of tool configuration, can be synchronized to adjust the feeding time, receiving time, detection action, so that the equipment really enter the “rhythm of the same” efficient state.
